Alejandra has all the characteristics of an extraordinary nurse educator and person with 15+ years of experience. Alejandra demonstrates this daily through their strong work ethic—always more than 100% committed, up to date, and providing real-time updates. One quality that sets Alejandra apart is her ability to show up even when work interferes with personal life. It's no secret that she led the transition of this unit into a Transitional Care Unit just as she returned to work after losing a loved one. Those who know her understand how meaningful and difficult this was. Our team is deeply grateful for how resilient, patient, and supportive Alejandra was in educating us during this time-while also grieving.

Alejandra is also a published author of research on Palliative Care and End of Life, recently presenting at the NCOF Conference in November 2024. This speaks volumes about her knowledge, dedication, and determination. Alejandra is the most genuine, compassionate, generous, and reliable member of our team. Always available to answer questions, even on her time off, she finds answers and ensures we feel supported. She helps us stay on track with education, license renewals, and organizes unit activities. Alejandra's small acts of kindness—like checking in when someone's having a hard day or showing up with our favorite candy jar—don't go unnoticed. She even brings her sage to "clear the bad vibes."

Alejandra volunteers for extra work, supports other units, and is the #1 advocate for residents, ensuring they receive the best experience possible. Alejandra celebrates everyone's accomplishments and encourages growth—whether it's helping with school, med-surg certifications, new roles, or PDRP presentations. She is a person of integrity, always kind, fair, and honest. She is respected and admired as a role model and leader in the unit.
