I would love to nominate Nurse Ericka for the DAISY Award for being an extraordinary nurse. I have been in the hospital for all of last year and most of this year and have never encountered such extraordinary care. I suffer from chronic pain, along with many illnesses. Many nurses care about my condition, but never like Nurse Ericka. She was right on top of all my medications (which are many), and I always got my medications on time.

After many days in her care, I never once had to wait for my meds. Anyone with chronic pain disorder will understand how very important this is to the patient. She was also very knowledgeable concerning my case history. She must have read my chart very thoroughly. Ericka was always very friendly and treated me with a lot of respect. I didn't feel like I was a bother to her when I was in her care. I really wish that I were a great writer so I could convey how much better she made my stay here at UCI Lakewood. Please consider my nomination of Nurse Ericka for being an extraordinary nurse. I wouldn't usually ask for a way to let doctors know how much I was touched by their nurse, but I just had to let everyone know about her care. Because of her care, I am very happy to nominate Nurse Ericka.
