She was swift with what needed to be done, even though the ER was very busy that day, and I know I wasn't her only patient.
I presented to the Emergency Department after a frightening event of temporarily losing my memory. I felt pretty certain that the episode had passed and was feeling better, but was encouraged by a family member, who is a nurse, that I should still go to the ER to be sure that nothing else was going on with my brain. My husband and I agreed, so I went off. Even though I was feeling more like myself, I was still very nervous about the possibility of something being really wrong.

Danielle was the nurse assigned to my case. She immediately created a rapport with me and made me feel like she listened and totally understood my concerns. She was swift with what needed to be done, even though the ER was very busy that day, and I know I wasn't her only patient. She checked in on me frequently and explained everything that was happening along the way in a way that was easy for me to understand. It was very comforting to me to know I had a nurse who was looking out for me. She never let me feel like I was abandoned in my room while waiting for various tests and treatment. In fact, she went out of her way to offer me something to eat/drink as she was aware it had been a while since I had eaten anything. That attention to detail was very impressive, not to mention appreciated.

It was very clear that Danielle truly enjoyed her job there in the ER and actually made mention of it during our conversation. She wasn't there just putting in her 8 hours, like I've seen in some healthcare workers. She really wanted to make a difference, and indeed she did! I left the hospital that evening feeling comforted and confident in Danielle's nursing skills, not to mention her personal touch. What started out as a frightening event turned out to be very different, largely due to her care. Thank you, Danielle!
