She is so personable and made me feel like I was not just her patient but a close friend, and she was excited to care for me that night.
Salomi was kind, patient, and practical with her help. From the first night she was assigned to us, I felt like she was always trying to teach us something or be helpful when she checked in on us. I don’t know what the frequency of check-ins is supposed to be, but I felt there were times when she would stop by when our newborn (H) was crying, and my wife and I couldn’t figure out how to console her. Salomi jumped in very calmly and seemed to just have the “magic touch” to help Hadley, and was very patient and kind in showing us what she knew. Salomi also went out of her way to emphasize that she could hold H for us while we got a little bit of rest at night as well. That was a really thoughtful gesture that meant a lot to me and my wife. I felt Salomi went above and beyond to help a new family adjust together, and her work has made a positive impression.

Salomi came in for report and immediately began anticipating my needs. She asked me about how I was feeling and provided care for me in ways that I didn’t even realize I needed. Being a mom and having my third kid, I tend to put myself last. She made sure that I had everything I needed for recovery and more. She is so personable and made me feel like I was not just her patient but a close friend, and she was excited to care for me that night. She went above and beyond, and my stay at the hospital was exceptional just for having her as my nurse. She deserves a DAISY Award because she is the kind of nurse every new mom needs. She brought joy into the room and made a personal connection that I will personally remember every time I think about being in the hospital to have my baby.

I would like to nominate Salomi for the DAISY Award for her incredible kindness, attentiveness, and compassion during my postpartum stay. Salomi went above and beyond to make me feel cared for—not just as a patient, but as a person. She and Elizabeth remembered that Biryani was my favorite Indian dish, and to my surprise and deep appreciation, Salomi brought me some homemade Biryani. That small but thoughtful gesture touched my heart and made me feel truly seen and loved during a time that can feel so overwhelming. Salomi was also very patient and attentive, always checking in to make sure I was doing well. When it was time for my baby’s labs, she thoughtfully gave me the option to have them drawn in my room—something I truly appreciated. Her gentle spirit, care, and dedication made such a difference in my recovery. I’ll never forget how special she made me feel.
