Our daughter was admitted for open heart surgery and spent several weeks in the CCCU, followed by several weeks on 4D. Rachel stood out amongst the countless amazing nurses we encountered. Her dedication to providing top-tier nursing care alongside her outstanding bedside manner puts her in a category of her own. During some of our worst days/nights, Rachel was the calm, confident, and caring presence we so deeply needed. From consoling us during teary bedside moments to celebrating our wins and getting countless giggles from our little one, her time with us spanned all of the emotions. Hearing she was our nurse for the day brought reassurance and allowed us to feel comfortable taking small breaks (which, as a parent of a sick baby, is VERY hard to do). We always knew our daughter was not only safe, but also happy to be left with her, and we couldn't ask for more during this difficult time. Her future patients will be better off having been in her care. 4D is lucky to have her, and the countless new staff members we watched her train are truly being trained by the best. The world could use not only more nurses, but more people like Rachel.
