Michael never left his side for longer than necessary, and he was attentive to even the smallest changes in the patient’s condition and responded immediately
I am pleased to nominate ICU Charge Nurse Mr. Michael Vincent Loy for the DAISY Award in recognition of the exceptional nursing care he provides to his patients.
During a recent new patient admission to the ICU, Michael’s professionalism was noticeable from the moment he entered the room. The patient was in critical condition, anxious, and in severe pain. Michael never left his side for longer than necessary, and he was attentive to even the smallest changes in the patient’s condition and responded immediately—coordinating with doctors, adjusting medications, and explaining every step with a calm, reassuring voice.
Despite his many responsibilities, Michael took time with the patient, offering emotional support during moments of fear and uncertainty. He didn’t just care for the patient; he truly cared about him.
That’s why I believe Michael is more than deserving of the DAISY Award. He represents the heart of nursing, and I will never forget the comfort and strength he gave to his patients when it was needed most.
