Saba remained compassionate and did not change the quality of care the patient received, remaining empathetic despite being hit by this patient.
Saba has consistently demonstrated the qualities of an Extraordinary Nurse, going above and beyond in his role. One example of this was when two patients were fighting on the unit, and after they were broken up, one of the patients was not following the directions of the staff. Saba attempted to redirect the patient, and the patient started swinging and hit him on the face. Saba was able to take control of the situation, holding the patient before more help arrived, then getting the patient into the room and in the restraints, maintaining the safety of the unit for patients and staff alike. Even after being injured, Saba remained as the charge nurse throughout the shift because he didn’t want to short the unit. When interacting with the patient who hit him, he still remained compassionate and did not change the quality of care the patient received, remaining empathetic despite being hit by this patient. This is just one of many examples, but he continually maintains the qualities of a DAISY Nurse. Always helping out his team, being a leader, patient, empathetic, and compassionate
