Aubrey was so incredibly kind to our family. After a scary labor and delivery where I was induced for preeclampsia and ended with an unexpected C-section and NICU stay for my baby, Aubrey was incredibly helpful. It was difficult not to be able to have our baby with us, and she showed us so much compassion and kindness. Aubrey was so full of light and made a situation that wasn’t ideal as pleasant as it could be. She did a good job at keeping us informed on why certain changes were taking place and helped us be able to make informed decisions. She got to know us on a personal level, and we joked about wishing we could bring her home from the hospital with us because she was so helpful and such a joy to be around! Not only was she a great nurse to be around because of her relatable demeanor, but her professional skills were evident as she helped me physically recover as well. She helped me understand what goals we were trying to reach with my health each day and worked hard to make sure that all of those goals were met. 

While I was feeling extremely guilty and overwhelmed trying to find the balance of spending time with my baby in the NICU while also recovering myself, Aubrey reassured me that I would know where I needed to be and that she would help me get there! She took the time to ask about how our baby was doing every time she knew we’d been up to the NICU. She helped us feel like we were capable parents and helped us feel empowered enough to take care of my health and my baby's health when we returned home.
