She had compassion for him and why he was in the Hospital, and she listened to him. She would get down to his level and look him in his eyes.
Rachel was the first nurse on the floor we encountered. She definitely set the tone for our stay. Rachel exudes an air of compassion and comfort. She seemed to embrace my husband and me as family. My husband felt completely at ease when Rachel was working with him. He felt like he was talking to his daughter and really perked up when she entered the room even with needles, and he really hates needles! In all seriousness, I hope all nurses take a page from Rachel's playbook. Treat everyone like family because we all need a little TLC sometimes. Thank you, Rachel.

The last few months have been really tough for my father. The loss of his oldest son and the death of his wife have been extremely tough on him. Then his fight with Parkinson’s and being in a nursing home for the last few years has also been difficult. But with Rachel, she went well beyond everything. She had compassion for him and why he was in the Hospital, and she listened to him. She would get down to his level and look him in his eyes. She communicated with him about everything she was doing for him. Overall, she was one of the very few bright moments for him while he was in the hospital.
