Mauricia went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of properly, and with every resource I needed to heal my mind, body and soul.
From the moment I entered the ICU, I was greeted and treated with so much love and care. Mauricia went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of properly, and with every resource I needed to heal my mind, body, and soul. I had a baby 5 months ago, and both my pregnancy and birth were very hard and traumatic, and I knew deep down I was struggling with postpartum depression, but I wasn't ready to admit it and address it.

My nurse took her time caring for me and made my experience easy to be vulnerable and open up about what I was experiencing. My nurse noticed it before I even spoke up about it. Mauricia went out of her way to make sure it was addressed and handled. Not only did she provide excellent care, but she also allowed me to just open up and talk through it and she gave me a safe space to do so. And every area I opened up and spoke about, she went out of her way to make sure it was addressed and gave me the right resources that could help me.

Mauricia is the blueprint of what it is to be a nurse. Someone who actually cares and has so much compassion for the ones they care for. I have been hospitalized for going on 2 weeks now, and numerous times after her shift she has come in just to check on me and make sure I'm receiving proper care, and to offer an ear to listen, if I need it.

I will never ever forget Mauricia and her beautiful, bright spirit. I told her that she is exactly where she is supposed to be because what she does is so effortless to her, yet so meaningful to the ones she cares for. I can't think of one person who took care of me or advocated for me better than her. She deserves everything great in life and to be recognized for all that she does. I love my Mauricia!
