I recently completed a focused ultrasound treatment at Johnston-Willis Surgical Center, and while the entire team was terrific, Amy, the nurse who was with me from start to finish, was exceptional. Just to be clear, I was more than a little apprehensive about the procedure, and she immediately tuned into my and my wife’s questions, needs, and concerns. Her sense of humor was unflagging as she took us through all the steps that were involved, beginning with an overview and then continuing to provide specifics as the procedure progressed. Among the more difficult parts of the day was the downtime waiting for the procedure to get started. Amy was a gem as she filled that anxiety-provoking void. Not only were her words of reassurance calming, but her expertise shone through without her having to say anything. Again, her great sense of humor was remarkable, so much so that she even made shaving my head a light-hearted experience. As I think through the possibility of coming back to have my left hand treated, I will definitely ask for Amy as my nurse. I can’t imagine anyone being more compassionate or professional.
