Nausheen is an exceptional nurse. We met her on my husband’s 1st night in the ICU post a double heart bypass. My husband was very anxious and definitely not himself. He wanted someone at his side at all times. Nausheen took the time to explain everything to him. She assured him that she would be there for him and that she was going to dedicate her undivided attention to him. We learned that her own precious son was born needing open heart surgery, and how scary that had been for her, the unknown. She said that is why she chose cardiac and is pursuing a higher degree in cardiac care. She put his mind at ease, talking to him, caring for him, and reassuring him that all would be well. Later that night, his potassium dropped from the insulin drip and he was in a total panic, feeling funny; he said, “I’m afraid.” Again, she sprang into action, giving electrolytes, checking his glucose consistently, and just talking with him about things that helped keep his mind off of the things happening. She had an extraordinary calming presence about her. Confident, nurturing, and caring. She will never be forgotten. The world needs 5 more beautiful nurturers like that. I know that she will touch many lives in her profession. She is genuine and a natural-born healer. We were truly blessed to have met her, and her imprint will live on!
