I would like to nominate Anna for the DAISY Award in recognition of her extraordinary compassion, professionalism, and presence during one of the most critical moments of our lives.

Anna was the nurse caring for my wife during labor when she suddenly experienced an amniotic fluid embolism (AFE). What unfolded was terrifying—my wife began seizing, and I stood by helplessly as the situation escalated rapidly.

In the midst of the chaos, Anna remained calm, focused, and deeply compassionate. She moved quickly to get help and ensure my wife was safely transported to the OR for emergency surgery. But what stood out just as much as her clinical urgency was her humanity. She didn’t forget about me. While others were working on my wife, Anna stayed with me—providing clear updates, steady reassurance, and a sense of emotional grounding that I desperately needed in those moments.

Thanks to the incredible team, including Anna’s swift action, my wife survived. I will never forget the look of concern in Anna’s eyes, her steady voice, and the way she balanced professionalism with empathy.

Anna is the kind of nurse who defines what the DAISY Award is all about—compassionate care delivered with excellence, even in the most intense circumstances. My family is forever grateful.
