I understand that taking care of a child can be challenging, but a child with special needs and care, you must have patience with exceptional attention to detail. We have been to numerous neurobehavioral units and interacted with amazing nurses, and then you have Lula. My Grandchild is autistic and can be a piece of work. Mom and I were having a hard time as we were trying to calm my Grandchild down.

In the midst of all the chaos, in a pivotal moment, Lula not only calmed my Grandchild, but she also provided a sense of calm and reassurance to my daughter. Her emotional support was a beacon of light in a difficult situation, making us feel understood and cared for. Most people don't understand how difficult life can, be but having someone who understands you and makes your brief encounter matter has melted my heart.

Nurse Lula is truly a God-sent angel; she is lovely, warm-hearted, and sweet. Thank you KKI NBU. Thank you for having nurse Lula, and thank you, Lula. Your exceptional care and understanding have made a significant difference in our lives. We truly appreciate all that you have done.

Lula is an exceptional Nurse who has a great deal of passion for the care she provides her patients. I've witnessed her build strong interpersonal connections with her patients and families, and because of that, she is able to advocate for the best care and ensure rights and needs are met for all involved.

Lula is truly unique as she offers an extraordinary blend of care, compassion and a wide scope of practice since mastering more complex units since completing nursing school. She often goes above and beyond, addressing concerns not only for the physical needs of the patients but also the emotional and psychosocial well-being of patients. I'm sure being a Nurse isn't easy; however, Lula makes it look well worth it! She is truly one of the hearts of healthcare in my eyes!

This nurse is truly remarkable in the care that she provides to every patient. Not only does she provide the best medical care for the patient, she also provides comfort, care, and compassion for the families as well. Lula goes above and beyond to ensure each patient, and their family have the best possible experience while at Kennedy.

Lula is an awesome nurse. She always has a positive attitude, and Lula always is willing to help even if a patient was not assigned to her. I can recall on more than one occasion when I've asked Lula to help me with a patient because my assigned nurse was unavailable and without hesitation, Lula always jumped in to help.

There was this one time I needed help with my patient that needed a full bath, dressing changes, bed lining changed, and hair washed. I asked Lula to help me do all these things even though the patient was not hers, she was available and willing to help, no questions asked.

Whenever Lula worked, even if we did not have any patients together, I always knew if I needed help and Lula was available, she would always be an extra hand. This brings me to saying I don’t think Lula gets the recognition that she deserves for all the great work she does, I know that Lula deserves this award, it is well overdue.

Lula is a compassionate, family oriented, and humble nurse. She always ensures that she is providing top quality care. I could not imagine anyone else who is more deserving.
