Our dad/husband was taken to the ER for chest pains and kept for observation. He is 92 years old, hard of hearing, has no central vision, and is incontinent. He was given IV Lasix and an external cath. On the day he was being discharged, he became very agitated. It turned out that his catheter was kinked and not draining properly. When Melissa came in to help him to the bathroom, he had an accident on the floor. Melissa was so kind and supportive. My dad is a very proud man, and he became very emotional. When Melissa saw this, she immediately went to him to hug him and began consoling him. She went above and beyond, and her kindness overwhelmed all of us. We realize how overworked and underappreciated nurses can be, and sometimes the pressure of the job can lead to nurses forgetting that the patients are human beings. It was reassuring to know that compassion like Melissa’s is alive and well in the industry. A grateful family thanks you!

Melissa loves her job and the patients she helps. She is a kind nurse and always there for you. She shows pride in what she does. I felt safe at the hospital at all times with her looking in on me. She is the kind of nurse your hospital should be proud of. I sure was. Her patience was beyond measure, and I wish her luck in all she does, and I know she cares for all her patients the same way.
