This student has exhibited resilience and compassion since the very first day of her nursing education. She is very enthusiastic and animated in her love of nursing. Academically, Ms. Hardin has conquered content like a master, but her personality and bedside manner prove her to be passionate about her patients. Ms. Hardin’s work ethic also demonstrates how a non-traditional student can manage a rigorous nursing program. Ms. Hardin is also a parent. In conversation, she loves to talk about her child and how determined she is to provide for him. Her loving sacrifice speaks to her amazing ability to study, pass class, excel in clinical, remain an involved parent, and also work as a hospital technician.

Not only is Ms. Hardin one of JSU’s thriving nursing students, but she is also a member of multiple organizations within the nursing field. Ms. Harding is a member of JANS, NSNA, NCF, and AHEC. Ms. Hardin was also recently selected as one of six AHEC Scholar representatives in the state. This award is just another example of Ms. Hardin’s dedication to passionately serving others. She is not only a leader among her JSU peers but also an inspiration to all nurses to collaborate in the areas of rural community nursing. Therefore, I wholeheartedly would like to nominate this student for the Student DAISY Award.
