There are many other examples of how her attention to detail and ability to quickly address minor changes have led to positive patient outcomes and patient satisfaction.
This nurse goes above and beyond every time she sets foot in the hospital. Time and time again she finds a way to connect with patients to make them comfortable, safe and empower them with knowledge to succeed when discharging.
One example, a long term patient soiled their only clothes they like to wear in the hospital. This nurse took the clothing and laundered them herself.
Another example, a patient was agitated and anxious over something of his being dropped off at the entrance and no one being able to find it. After clocking out, at the end of her shift, she went looking for it and brought it up to the patient. She is consistently advocating for patients while in the hospital.
She had a patient and noticed they had slurred speech. This was different than what she was told in report. She advocated for imaging to be done which indicated the patient had a stroke on top of the other complications during this hospital stay. This resulted in a care conference and a palliative consult. The family of the patient was so grateful for answers and the ability to be together as she went on CC.
