Having a nurse like Margaret, makes you have confidence that you’re going to be okay, and she’s going to do everything in her power to ensure that.
In my 3rd trimester of my first pregnancy, I fell down the stairs in my home and had to come into triage. While it was clearly a minor injury, being a first time mom made it feel like the end of the world. The first face I saw coming into triage was Margaret's and her confidence and calmness in handling the situation made everything feel okay.

With several other instances of coming into triage for high blood pressures, Margaret was yet again right there every step of the way, the calm in what felt like a constant storm. Margaret ended up being my delivering nurse in a c section to deliver our daughter, and I was terrified again of the unknown. Margaret walked me through every single thing that would happen and physically held me and helped me to calm down while getting my spinal.

She introduced me to my daughter for the first time, and that is a role no one else will ever hold. A role that she takes seriously, and that is evident in everything she does. After being discharged home, I was shortly readmitted for pre-eclampsia. Terrified and away from my newborn, there was Margaret. Walking me me through it every step of the way.

With one instance of having a scary reaction to my magnesium drip, Margaret coincidentally came into my room to check on me. Within a matter of minutes she had multiple people in my room, assessing me and making sure I was okay. Being a new mom with a normal pregnancy, and post partum experience is already a very difficult experience. Having any kind of complication makes it even scarier.

Having a nurse like Margaret, makes you have confidence that you’re going to be okay, and she’s going to do everything in her power to ensure that. I have had amazing nurses throughout this whole process and these nurses are in a position to truly change lives by the care they provide to women and children. Margaret doesn’t take that job lightly and she is the epitome of what all should strive to be in their place of work. It was an honor to be taken care of by her.
