Laura is an excellent rehab nurse. She takes the initiative to ask the rehab therapists' perspective on a patient, such as how they best transfer and if we have noticed any new concerning signs/symptoms since we work with these patients every day, while it could be her first time meeting them. Laura is courteous of our rehab therapy schedule, always going out of her way to walk down to the gym to let us know if a patient will be off the floor for a scheduled test or if they will be late to a therapy session for whatever reason. This allows us to accommodate our patients' needs in a timely manner when we need to make changes to our therapy schedule. Laura always has a smile on her face, welcoming both patients and staff. She makes sure to say hello to all of her patients by name, as well as the staff, when she walks by in the hallway. Laura truly cares about her patients and is extremely attentive, always in a patient room or paging a physician to learn more.

Laura is an amazing nurse, and it is obvious how passionate she is about her job and her patients. She has been an advocate for countless rehab patients, always speaking up for their needs and communicating to the rest of the rehab therapists about anything that might impact their therapy sessions. She is always spending her time attending to patient needs, providing a Listening ear when patients are down, and just simply being that warm, kind presence for patients who need it most in the middle of some tough rehab stays.

Laura is currently with a patient doing his strength testing. After doing so, she stated, "Wow! That is so much better! What have you been doing in therapy to make it better?" After he told her about walking in the Arjo and all of the other things we have been doing with him she said, "That is why I love working here. I love seeing all of the progress everyone makes." Laura emulates everything that a rehab nurse should be, celebrating the patient's wins alongside them.
