A few weeks ago, I had a routine Dental appointment at Branch Dental Wallace Creek, and I could not continue with the procedure due to my blood pressure being extremely high. The Dentist told me, please go downstairs to medical to get immediate attention for your elevated blood pressure. I check in at the front desk, and a few minutes later, Nurse Mrs. Jill James calls me back. She immediately said, "Let's get your blood pressure checked right away", with no hesitation, and told me to calm down and relax. From that moment, Nurse Jill James told me, I was going to be alright, and she would do her best to get to the bottom of my elevated blood pressure. I was surely reassured, and that helped calm me down in the moment. I was administered an EKG test, and she was able to notify the doctor on duty to come and talk with me about my history and the last few days. Nurse Jill James was very concerned that day, blood pressure was down, not in the range where it should be.

After that day, Nurse Jill James monitored my blood pressure each day over the course of a few weeks, and provided medical advice on diet, conditions, and certain things I could do to keep my blood pressure under control. I want to acknowledge Nurse Jill James, because over these last few weeks, she stayed consistent with the utmost medical care, and I really appreciate the concern. I was told to make an appointment with Nephrology, and Nurse Jill James assisted in providing my medical stats (bloodwork) for me to give to the Nephrology office upon my arrival. Nurse Jill James made me comfortable each visit, keeping me calm and not to worry too much about blood pressure, as she assured me once more that I was going to be alright. I feel since then, that Nurse Jill James is the epitome of a nurse going above and beyond the normal call of medical care, and she truly cared for my well-being. I don't see that often, some civilian Nurses are not personable, enthusiastic, and persistent. Nurse Jill James is all those things and more, Branch Medical Wallace Creek is a much better place with her on the staff. I appreciate the level of care and expertise she puts into her job every single day. I would like for her to be recognized as the exceptional Nurse she is, bettering the lives of Marines and Sailors every day. In my opinion, this type of care really lifts the spirits, and that alone helps in many ways. Thanks to Nurse Jill James for being great.
