I have worked with Emily for almost 3 years. As a co-worker, she has always been hard-working, caring, and willing to help no matter the circumstances. Emily is an honest, kind, and compassionate person, who consistently reflects her patient care and patient relationships. She continues to put her patients first and advocates when needed.

Recently, there was a situation in the ED with a young patient and her family members. The patient began to have seizures and became extremely critical very quickly. This patient required life-saving measures immediately. Emily reacted quickly and calmly, while carrying herself with confidence, which made the family feel safe and secure with the care being provided. She gave clear direction to those around her and showed leadership in a potentially life-threatening situation.

After the patient was stabilized, I found myself in the room with only the family, and they had voiced how appreciative and how impressed they were with the care the patient received, and especially Emily's actions. In a tough and difficult situation, she made a difference not only in the patient’s condition but also in providing empathy and reassurance to the family. Emily exemplifies the mission and values of the Cleveland Clinic!
