My 67-year-old mother had just lost her husband of 42 years to cancer when she was diagnosed with colon cancer. My father had always been there to handle and take care of her every need, so this news was very scary for her. She was not afraid of dying but of going through the treatments alone. My mother also has a very challenging personality at times.
Nurse Jana Hare at the clinic was lovingly attentive to her situation and always went out of her way to reassure and calm my mother's fears and anxiety on every visit and through the entire treatment process.
Today, my mother is cancer-free, and I still occasionally bump into nurse Jana while frequently visiting the clinic for my medical care. Jana is still so kind and caring to everyone.
I watched her hug and silently cry her own tears when the young daughter of a patient who had passed was revisiting the oncology clinic. So, I know this love is genuine and shared with everyone she comes in contact with. In my experience and opinion, Nurse Jana Hare is deserving and exemplary of what a DAISY nurse should be.
