She provided the patient with clothes from the volunteer cabinet, which consisted of shorts, a shirt, socks, and shoes. She also called the homeless shelters in Citrus County, and the veteran had a safe, warm place to eat and sleep.
A homeless veteran came into the clinic to establish care. The veteran was dirty, had holes in his clothes, and had no shoes to speak of. Lisa took the veteran to her office and assisted him with cleaning himself up. She provided the patient with clothes from the volunteer cabinet, which consisted of shorts, a shirt, socks, and shoes. She also called the homeless shelters in Citrus County, and the veteran had a safe, warm place to eat and sleep. The veteran was also put in contact with the homeless coordinator for assistance. She also provided the veteran with some food products from the clinic and as well as from her own office. She also provided a kit that she made up of basic items, which included items such as: toothpaste, toothbrush, comb/brush, deodorant, and shampoo. This is not the only one case that Lisa has assisted. Lisa worked with volunteer services and arranged to have items brought to the Lecanto clinic so that we have supplies for our veterans. She maintains the inventory and works with volunteer services at least monthly and more often as needed. Lisa is also the Women's Health advocate. She arranges for all pregnant women to receive a gift basket from Tampa to include basic items such as diapers, bottles, and clothes. After delivery, the mother also receives a stroller. Lisa also taught classes for the Thrive program under Whole Health with Dr. Babol. She is very proactive with any and all veterans she comes in contact with. She offers all available resources to the veterans, as well as any programs that would benefit them. She had one veteran who called the NM (me) that she had saved his life with all her teachings to him. This is a small summary of what Lisa does for all veterans and not just the ones on her PACT team. Lisa goes above and beyond for each patient she comes in contact with. She is a true asset to Lecanto CBOC.
