When I went in to be induced with my second child, I was nervous. From the moment I met Kelly, she felt like a longtime friend. She set up the room nicely, encouraged me to wear whatever made me comfortable, and began attaching monitors and placing my IV. After several failed attempts and blown veins, I became overwhelmed, but Kelly calmed my nerves. She called anesthesia for an ultrasound-guided IV and stayed by my side through every attempt. Later, when my IV blew again, Kelly immediately called anesthesia back, stayed with me, and helped me feel at ease until it was successfully placed. When her shift ended, she stayed until my baby was born. Compared to my first birth, this experience was a million times better, thanks to Kelly’s compassion, care, and willingness to go above and beyond.
