James was a very knowledgeable and welcoming nurse. He not only involves the patient in his care but also includes the family. That is essential when giving nursing care because the patient will have a better outcome if all “team members” are on the same page and understand how to care for the patient. James also questioned an order given by a resident doctor. The doctor ordered the patient to get potassium IV, and James first looked at my mom’s chart and saw that her potassium levels were in the normal range. He called the resident doctor and the attending, and the potassium was not given. James looks at the whole picture, not just one part. Excellent nurse!
