Undergoing an unexpected heart surgery can certainly bring about anxiety, but we were fortunate enough to be receiving care from an exceptional cardio team. Steve, especially, is a standout on the team. We checked in early for surgery by Dr. S and his team. We first met Nurse Steve when getting prepped for surgery. Immediately, Steve put my husband and me at ease. He carefully explained how the entire day and procedure would flow and be handled. Steve had my husband completely at ease, and by the time they were moving into the OR, Steve and my husband were fast friends. Steve called me twice to keep me apprised on how the surgery was going and how well my husband was doing. Steve was our first point of contact on a particularly important day. He set the tone for how we felt and put us both at ease. His professionalism, kind manner, and light wit were just the right tonic for us. Thank you, Steve. Because you set us up so well on this journey, we have progressed fairly smoothly ever since. We believe you to be a guardian angel, and we wish many, many great blessings to you in return.
