Nomination 1:
I would like to nominate Cassie Blair for recognition due to her outstanding dedication, teamwork, and leadership. Cassie consistently goes above and beyond for both our patients and staff. Her commitment to excellence and her willingness to support others make her an invaluable part of our team. Recently, Cassie stepped in without hesitation to assist with rooming a particularly challenging patient and their parent. Her calm demeanor, professionalism, and ability to de-escalate the situation ensured a smooth experience for everyone involved. Her actions demonstrated not only compassion and skill but also set an example for the rest of us. Cassie has also played a pivotal role in my own growth as a medical assistant. She takes the time to share her knowledge, explain procedures, and offer constructive feedback. She is always willing to teach others, and she fosters a collaborative environment. Her mentorship has had a positive impact on my confidence and clinical skills. With this, I believe she deserves recognition for all the contributions she brings to our team!

Nomination 2:
I am nominating Cassie Blair for the DAISY Award. Cassie is everything the DAISY Award - Great Nurse entails. She is one of the triage nurses I work with. I started working at Northwestern Peds about a year ago, transitioning from another Peds office after being there 12 + years. I work very part-time, so the transition with the computer, Epic, and office policies has been challenging. Cassie, my mentor, has definitely been there for me through it all. With all my questions, yes, I do have a lot of computer questions ( I have never been fast to learn the newest computer technology). All I need to do is say, "Cassie", and she is there to guide me. Her daily commitment to triage, compassion to all her patients, empathy, kindness, and vast triage knowledge are shown in every call she makes. She is also a breath of fresh air to the office. She plans holiday decor, contests, events outside of the office, and simple things like the bulletin board being decorated. I am a lot older than Cassie, but she always takes the time to talk to me, and we can share recipes, stories, and special events in our lives. She always listens!!! I am thankful for her as a colleague, nurse, and friend.

Nomination 3:
St Charles Pediatrics is honored to nominate Cassie Blair for the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. Her unwavering dedication, deep clinical knowledge, and compassionate care make her an exceptional triage nurse and an irreplaceable part of our team. Every day, Cassie works to the top of her nursing license, bringing expert, empathetic care to each parent she speaks to on the phone. Her ability to assess situations calmly, educate with clarity, and support worried families is a testament to her skill and kind heart. Her background in the NICU gives her a unique depth of experience, especially when working with newborns and premature infants. She is a trusted voice for families navigating feeding difficulties, newborn care, and urgent concerns. Recently, during a period of critical short staffing, Cassie single-handedly managed triage for our office, which supports seven busy pediatricians. Despite the overwhelming call volume, she continued to provide calm, compassionate, and thorough advice and care, providing the same high standard of care to every family. In addition to handling calls, she continued to perform Nurse Visits, including successfully performing a straight cath on a 2-week-old patient- all with grace and professionalism. Beyond her clinical excellence, Cassie is a pillar of our office culture. She precepts and helps newer triage nurses, fielding multiple questions a day. She is also the heart of our team’s morale by planning office party entertainment, holiday contests, as well as coordinating book club events and team outings. Her creativity and fun-loving spirit bring joy to the workplace, creating a supportive and positive environment for staff and patients alike. Cassie embodies everything the DAISY Award represents: Clinical excellence, compassionate care, mentorship, and team spirit. Her reliability, resilience, and kindness make her truly deserving of this recognition.
