Rebecca went above and beyond for the NICU unit and the staff members on the night of the Eagles' Super Bowl. She was not scheduled to work but had offered to come in to help when the NICU admitted two critical babies. Without hesitation, Aunt Becky, as she is affectionately called, came in during the game regardless of her strong love for the Eagles. As the current charge nurse was managing a critical admission in addition to her many other charge duties, Becky immediately made all the appropriate phone calls. She held a capacity meeting. Other units were called for staffing. Patients were moved to allocate for more space for emergent admissions. In addition to all of this, Becky took on a two-patient assignment. All of this alleviated the incredible stress of the unit. Becky not only wants to help her peers when in need but also prioritizes patient safety. Becky is such a strong asset to this unit, and we all appreciate her support. We believe she is a DAISY Nurse for her commitment to the unit, prioritizing patient safety, and genuine compassion.
