She let me rest my head on her chest, held my hand, and massaged my arm, getting me to relax and breathe through it all.
Yanna went above and beyond to make my first visit to Moses Cone the most warm and welcoming. I have two other kids, but they were born in New York. I'm relatively new to the state, having been here for less than a year. Unsure about how my labor and delivery would go here, I definitely arrived hesitantly. My first two births were the exact same, both induced, born exactly 41 weeks. This baby decided to come naturally all on its own, making this all uncharted territory for me.
Yanna welcomed me in and answered every question I had. In addition to being knowledgeable and kind, she possessed an exceptional, nurturing bedside manner. I ended up getting an epidural, and even with the pain of contractions, I was still nervous about the pain of this epidural. She let me rest my head on her chest, held my hand, and massaged my arm, getting me to relax and breathe through it all. She was, and I know still is, absolutely amazing, and if anyone gets a DAISY award, it should be her. Thank you, Yanna, for making my first birth in North Carolina both comfortable and memorable. All our love.
