Jess went above and beyond to ensure my grandmother’s last few hours on earth were as comfortable as possible, as clean as possible, and did what she could to advocate for that.
Jess was caring for my grandmother when I met her. When she noticed I was distressed over my grandma’s discomfort, she shared that my grandma had been in a great deal of pain throughout the day. When the doctor came in, I advocated for comfort as she was in too much pain, which was not something she wished. Jess immediately rallied those she needed to ensure that her comfort was the utmost priority. She took pictures of me while I prayed over my grandma and was so tasteful in how she handled me and her, keeping her dignity intact.

Jess called for a comfort cart and ensured that I had the knee support that I needed. Before leaving, she asked if she could support me and other extended family members by printing out portions of her heartbeat from the day. I agreed and shared that when I gave birth to a son who passed a few hours later, I was never offered that, and I thought it was really sweet of her to ask.

Jess went above and beyond to ensure my grandmother’s last few hours on earth were as comfortable as possible, as clean as possible, and did what she could to advocate for that. I am pleased Jess was there and was able to care for her in two of her final days. She cleaned my grandma up, got her blankets, and wrapped her in a little cocoon to keep her tiny body warm. It created a smiling memory for me and my grandma. Truly grateful for her!
