I am honored to nominate Ashley for the DAISY Award. Her dedication to both her patients and colleagues is unparalleled. She consistently goes above and beyond to support her teammates, providing guidance, expertise, and encouragement at every turn.

One specific example that stands out to me occurred early in my career as a new nurse when I was caring for a patient who suffered a hemorrhagic conversion stroke. In that moment, I felt overwhelmed and unsure of what to do. She was there for me every step of the way. She remained calm and focused, guiding me through the situation with clarity and confidence. Her presence was incredibly reassuring, not only to me but also to the patient’s daughter, who was understandably distraught. She took the time to comfort her, offering gentle reassurance and support during such a terrifying time.

She taught me how to manage the situation effectively, ensuring that the patient received the best possible care. I have always admired her ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations. She is the first person I turn to with any concerns about patient care, and her wealth of knowledge makes her an invaluable resource. Whether answering questions or offering solutions, she is always there with the right guidance.

Beyond her technical expertise, she has been a source of emotional support, offering a listening ear and a safe space to confide in. She creates a work environment where everyone feels valued and heard. Her impact on my nursing career has been profound. She has taught me a great deal about patient care, leadership, and professionalism. She is the nurse I aspire to be, and I am grateful for everything she has shared with me.
