In addition to the extraordinary level of commitment, Eugenia approaches patients with respect and sensitivity, and non-judgmental clinical care.
Eugenia has performed outstanding and extraordinary work with our community to provide treatment and nursing care to our communities, especially our unsheltered and most vulnerable patients and families with substantial barriers to healthcare. The current workload for this nurse is over 100 referrals for the STI/Syphilis consults for treatment in their home or through their home.
She has provided leadership, education, and orientation to other clinical and non-clinical staff to share best practices and coordination of point-of-care testing for express HIV testing and rapid Syphilis testing in the communities. The point-of-care testing has been performed in health fairs, schools, vaccine clinics, street medicine clinics, and large events, including the Shiprock Fair.
One more quality that stands out about Eugenia is the commitment to helping where help is needed without hesitation. This nurse also provides phlebotomy, blood draws, and treatment, as well as education and outreach that is update and evidence-based practice knowledge that is necessary for successful collaboration, timely and adequate care, and high-quality clinical nursing care.
