April’s actions inspire those around her and remind us of the impact one nurse can have in upholding a culture of support, reliability, and compassion.
I am honored to nominate April Fulton, one of our dedicated nurses, for the DAISY Award in recognition of her extraordinary commitment, compassion, and work ethic that go above and beyond the call of duty.
Recently, April was scheduled to be on vacation so she could move her daughter home from college, a significant and important time for any parent. One of her coworkers called out due to a family emergency, which created a huge gap in clinic coverage, as it would have left one nurse and one MA for two very busy physicians. April is the doctor's assistant, and her schedule was beyond full. Without hesitation, April left work on May 8, traveled from Valdosta to Statesboro, completed the move, drove through the night, returned home at 5 a.m., and still came in on her day off to ensure her physician had proper coverage and that patient care continued seamlessly.
This is a powerful example of April’s unwavering dedication not only to her team but also to the patients we serve. She consistently puts others before herself, and in this instance, demonstrated exceptional integrity, sacrifice, and teamwork, all of which embody the spirit of the DAISY Award.
April’s actions inspire those around her and remind us of the impact one nurse can have in upholding a culture of support, reliability, and compassion. She deserves recognition for her selflessness and tireless commitment to our mission and values.
