She satisfied our needs in a timely manner even before we knew what they were. Gail listened not only to our words, but she saw our hearts.
My husband had a hip replacement on a Tuesday and was home on Thursday. After a few days at home, I knew something was not right. I called 911, and away he went, back to the hospital late Saturday night. Gail met us Sunday morning with a sincere, heartwarming, yet professional welcome. We knew immediately that she really cared- this was not just a job to her. She was beautiful, both inside and out, with a radiance that assured us we were in excellent care. She satisfied our needs in a timely manner even before we knew what they were. Gail listened not only to our words, but she saw our hearts. Unfortunately, we only had 24 hours with her, but during that time, we asked her about her family, so she briefly shared that this was her first time back to the hospital after 2 months. Her 37-year-old son had suffered a massive heart attack 2 months earlier, and her family has stayed by his side through it all. He is now in a rehab center learning how to walk and talk again. She was actually planning on visiting him after her shift. If we had not asked her about her family, we would never have known from her cheerful disposition the hardship she has been experiencing in her personal life. Her compassion and care towards my husband were genuine. We feel she is highly qualified for the DAISY Award!

Gail’s actions gave us confidence in the quality of care we would experience at the Intermountain Spanish Fork Hospital. Personable, skilled, and caring. We witnessed the unselfish lives of those who work here as we were told of those who care for their adopted handicapped children, or those who have adopted some of their foster children, or those who come from broken homes because of addiction. These small life sketches gave us the desire, hope, and strength to carry on, knowing that if others have faced these challenges, we could face ours.
