I feel as if Ashley should be the recipient of a DAISY Award due to how she goes above and beyond every day. She does so for not only her patients, but fellow staff members as well. I have had the pleasure of having Ashley as my nurse both as a patient myself, my mother being a patient, and also as a coworker. I met Ashley on one of her first days as an RN who was part of the GHMC New Grad Nurse residency program. She was my mom's nurse when I brought her to the ER.

I remember every single thing about Ashley's demeanor and compassion from that day. This occurred months ago, and to this day, my mother remembers her and the impact she had on her. Ashley still asks me every time I see her how my mom is doing, and that she hopes she is well. As a coworker, Ashley constantly ensures that I am okay, and if I need any assistance, I can let her know, no matter how swamped or busy she is herself. I have seen Ashley grow from a wonderful yet shy new grad RN to an amazing, more seasoned nurse who advocates for her patients every step of the way. She is kind, confident, capable, and determined, which are absolutely amazing qualities of a nurse. Despite not having years and years of experience, Ashley showcases everything that a nurse should be with her kindness and compassion, in addition to her willingness to help others. I am grateful every day that I met Ashley and have the pleasure of working with her and watching her grow and blossom each day.
