Chivon stayed late past her shift to make sure W was okay and continued helping her out.
My wife W and I had two beautiful twin baby girls. Chivon was amazing at making sure my wife was informed, comfortable, and most importantly, ready to deliver the babies! She went above and beyond to make sure my wife was taken care of. She was our hype man, biggest supporter, and someone who provided my wife with comfort while she was obviously going through a lot of different emotions.

Everything went smoothly up until post-delivery. Chivon checked W’s stomach and noticed something seemed off. She checked again and was certain that there was, unfortunately, some sort of blood clot. Chivon sprang into action, notifying the Doctor and getting W ready for an ultrasound. Sure enough, there was blood clotting. It was determined that my Wife had a hemorrhage and was losing a lot of blood, and action needed to be taken quickly. Let me remind you guys that Chivon had already gone above and beyond for us at this point. We already loved her and felt so blessed to have her as our nurse. But what happened from here on out is something that will stay with us for the rest of our lives.

W had to unfortunately go through two sweeps (I’m not sure what it’s called, but the doctor had to put her hand in there and bring the blood clots out), on top of that, she needed to have some sort of balloon/suction device that would suck out the blood in there to allow the uterus to do its thing. I was sitting on the couch holding both of our twins, scared of what would happen next. Chivon was right there by my wife’s side, holding her hand, caressing her face, calling her beautiful, and telling her she was so strong and that it was almost over. I cannot tell you how much it meant to me to see this firsthand, as my wife’s husband, who was unable to be there for her due to needing to take care of the newborns. This was absolutely incredible, and W would not have had the emotional strength to do this without Chivon.

Chivon stayed late past her shift to make sure W was okay and continued helping her out. Honestly, it felt like for 7 hours, Chivon didn’t leave the room, take a break, or eat. She was right there with W, collaborating with other nurses, the doctor, making sure the twins were taken care of, everything. She hugged my wife after everything was over, and they both just cried together, and she told W everything was going to be okay. This meant the absolute world to us.

Thankfully, due to the actions of Chivon and Dr. N, my wife was okay and transported to the postpartum room around 3 AM the next day. Chivon came to visit my wife and the twins the very next morning and brought her some of her favorite candy. Chivon is a true representation of believing in what she does, serving with empathy, caring for each patient (and the patient’s husband), and communicating with everyone around her. I just can’t say enough good things about Chivon.

Chivon - you are the best. W and I will never forget you. Thank you.

My wife and I are crying as I type this. Everyone in my family is so grateful for Chivon and Dr. N. When everything went downhill, everyone in both of our families was praying like there was no tomorrow. Chivon was the answer to our prayers.
