From the moment Paige steps into the room, her warm demeanor and most genuine empathy create an immediate sense of comfort for the patient and families.
We are honored to nominate Paige for this award in recognition of her exceptional compassion and dedication for not only caring for her patients, but those that have special needs.
From the moment Paige steps into the room, her warm demeanor and most genuine empathy create an immediate sense of comfort for the patient and families. She understands that her patients and those with unique needs often require not only medical attention but also emotional support. Paige does this with such ease and with an ability to make a connection on a personal level that makes such a significant difference in their care.
There are many instances where we have witnessed this outstanding care and compassion. One in particular was a 32-year-old non-verbal autistic male who presented with multiple challenges for our team. Paige made an immediate connection with this young man and was able to calm and comfort him. Both she and her PCT were able to bathe the patient and change him into fresh clothes. I saw firsthand Paige’s gentle touch when combing his hair and speaking so calmly to him. She did this with such patience and kindness. Paige’s special qualities and the positive impact she has on the patient exemplify her commitment to a nurturing environment. She prioritizes dignity, respect, and the individuality of each patient.
Paige volunteers for our Wound prevalence committee, is a charge nurse, and preceptor to our new graduate RNs.
Furthermore, Paige consistently collaborates with her team to ensure the patients receive comprehensive care tailored to their unique needs. She is not only an advocate for her patients but also serves as an invaluable resource for her team, sharing best practices in caring for her patients and those with special and unique needs.
In summary, Paige’s compassion, dedication, and tireless efforts make her deserving of this award. She embodies the qualities of an Extraordinary Nurse and leaves a lasting impact on the lives of all patients and families.
