Abbott is extremely fortunate to have Liz on staff. She was amazing. My husband B was there 12 days and was so impressed and felt safe when Liz was on duty. 

She went above and beyond giving him total care, both physical and emotional. She was totally present with each interaction, asking not only B but his family every time she exited the room if she could get us anything at all. 

We all were emotionally drained as the extraordinary physicians tried to figure out the whys, whats, and wheres that were making B so sick. He underwent multiple tests, including a lumbar puncture and two thoracenteses, and Liz took the time to explain and encourage him with each test and its results. She made sure he was bathed, fed, and given his meds, and did all the safety measures to prevent falls. 

Our only question was “Will you be my nurse tomorrow?” as we just love her so. When you are 5 hours from home and know no physicians or nurses to get a nurse as dedicated to patients at Abbott as Liz – it truly is a blessing. 

On one occasion, when we were so concerned and worried, I mentioned in passing my love for ice cream. In comes Liz with a container of ice cream to soothe us. Liz you are an amazing nurse and so appreciated by our family.
