Not only does she do her job professionally, but with love and care, bringing a special touch that can only come from the heart.
My mom was in there for a week and a half. She was admitted for pneumonia, which in turn began to shut down my mom’s organs one by one, as she had a couple of small strokes and a large stroke, which left her a vegetable. She was 80 years old and was always terrified of hospitals and being alone. They allowed one of us kids to stay with her at all times, as it kept her calm. As time went on, we faced one thing after another as our mother spiraled down. Candace was so sweet to my mother and took such loving gentle care of her. If she didn’t have the answers for us, she made sure the doctors spoke with us about every issue. She went far and beyond her duties to care for mom and her four daughters, as we stayed near her. Candace is the nurse who has a special calling for her job. Not only does she do her job professionally, but with love and care, bringing a special touch that can only come from the heart. We thank her, as well as the other nurses on this floor, but she was exceptionally loving and caring with our mom that I would like to nominate her for the DAISY Award for the selfless and loving kindness she showed our mom, as well as to us. We thank the staff nurses, doctors, and all the support staff for the services they provide to us. In the end, they had to set up a hospice for Mom, which took care of everything for us, and we lost Mom the very next afternoon, but we will never forget the kindness shown to her and us. We want to thank all the staff very much!
