Professor Shotts received multiple nominations from students this academic year. One that stands out reads, "Professor Shotts has made learning so fun! My cohort has been very stressed from the start of our program, and she has really slowed down to help answer all of our questions, making sure we fully understand the material. She is always available and does so, so much for our program and school. She is very friendly and personable, and an inspiration to us all. Professor Shotts speaks to us like we are already nurses and believes in us to the fullest. Outside of the classroom, she offers laughs, support, and is always there to listen to whatever students have going on in their personal lives. She goes out of her way to make sure we are caring for our mental health and encourages us to participate in our student nursing club. She also started a book club for us so we can relax a bit and remind ourselves to take care of ourselves. I always feel comfortable going to her and want to thank her for her wealth of knowledge in the nursing field. She takes pride in her job, both as a nurse and an educator. The world truly needs more people like her!! She goes above and beyond for all of her students and deserves to be recognized!"
