I have had the pleasure to work with Katie and witness her interactions with breast cancer patients on numerous occasions. Not only does Katie show compassion for every patient she sees, but she also takes time to personalize their visit and ensure that all of their questions are answered to the best of her ability before they leave. She works side by side with her physician to ensure that her patients receive only the most excellent experience and that they leave their visit knowing they have a team to help them through their cancer journey. Katie goes above and beyond her job duties daily, helping elderly patients make phone calls for prosthetics, organizing care between specialists and other facilities if needed, finding locations closest to the patient's home for ease of travel, or recognizing SDOH concerns and ensuring that they are considered when scheduling imaging or appointments. If the patient travels south for the winter, Katie works hard to ensure a smooth transition of care until they return, and so much more.

Not only does she go above and beyond in her medical role, but she also has the ability to connect with her patients and families on a personal level to build a trusting relationship from the first encounter. She takes the time to know the support system around them because she knows how important those individuals will be during the patient's fight against cancer. Numerous patients call the office specifically for Katie when they are seeking advice, because she has made such an impression and impact on their care, and the patient knows that her knowledge and expertise will help them through. Katie works with the patient from the moment a referral comes in, to their 5th year visit when they can finally say they have completed their journey with us. She not only manages to provide top notch patient care, but she also works the referral workque, schedules surgeries, obtains prior authorizations, orders imaging, follows up on outside imaging, schedules appointments, assists with procedures, all while keeping the Breast Health Clinic patient satisfaction scores as some of the highest rated in the organization. Katie is dedicated, loyal, hardworking, compassionate, and above all else, one of the most amazing nurses you could ever have the opportunity to meet because, regardless of who you are or where you came from, she truly cares and will give you 100% each and every encounter.
