What stands out about Theresa is her innate ability to engage with the team, ensure everyone’s input is considered, and create an inclusive environment where the focus is on mutual respect and continuous improvement.
Theresa Williams, RN, has proven to be an invaluable member of the St. Joseph Quality Team, and I am honored to nominate her for this year’s Daisy Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to patient safety, team engagement, and the implementation of innovative initiatives such as Stop The Bleed.

Patient Safety – One of Theresa’s most significant contributions has been her passionate and determined focus on patient safety. She leads quarterly quality roundings for our clinics, aimed at identifying potential safety concerns, strengthening communication, and identifying opportunities for improvement. By promoting continuous education on safety protocols and empowering the team to voice safety concerns, Theresa has significantly enhanced the overall safety culture within our Medical Group.

Team Engagement – Theresa's willingness to foster collaboration is known at every monthly staff meeting. This is where she creates an atmosphere where every team member feels heard and valued. Theresa presents the results from the quarterly quality roundings, utilizing an approach that has enhanced our team dynamics and morale. What stands out about Theresa is her innate ability to engage with the team, ensure everyone’s input is considered, and create an inclusive environment where the focus is on mutual respect and continuous improvement.

Excellence – A great example of how Theresa has demonstrated exceptional initiative and shown her dedication to improving patient care is through the implementation of the Stop the Bleed program within our Medical Group. Recognizing the importance of trauma preparedness, Theresa, in collaboration with others, researched funding opportunities, crafted a proposal, and secured the necessary resources to launch this program. Theresa not only organized training sessions for our staff but also within our community. Thanks to Theresa’s foresight and leadership, our team is now better equipped to handle trauma cases from uncontrolled bleeding, an outcome that will ultimately save lives.
