She followed her instincts and knew that something was wrong with her patient.
Nikki came to clinical with some healthcare experience already under her belt. She worked each week to further grow this knowledge and continue to expand her skill set. She showed great growth in her critical thinking while assisting a patient. She quickly noticed a change in the patient's respiratory status. Without a second thought, she hit the "staff assist" button on the wall. She followed her instincts and knew that something was wrong with her patient. Primary nursing staff then called a rapid response, where the patient continued to get a higher level of care. Her quick critical thinking helped to get her patient the help that they needed in a timely manner.
