Her patients feel comfortable and safe under her care, and she excels at building strong relationships with them.
I want to nominate Roxi for the DAISY Award. She consistently goes above and beyond for her patients, especially those with cancer. Working the night shift, Roxi has frequently adjusted her schedule or arrived early to provide chemotherapy care, ensuring that there are no delays in treatment. She is always willing to come in early to meet her patients' needs. Roxi stays up to date with her training to guarantee that she can offer the best care possible. Her patients feel comfortable and safe under her care, and she excels at building strong relationships with them. She frequently checks in on her patients, even when she is not directly involved in their care. Roxi advocates for her patients by diligently double-checking all orders to ensure they are accurate and complete. She is always willing to support her team and serves in multiple roles depending on the unit's demands. Roxi is a preceptor, charge nurse, chemotherapy nurse, and mentor for capstone students. She loves educating those around her, including co-workers, students, and patients. She also prioritizes and strives for the well-being of her coworkers, always willing to help by switching shifts and being accommodating to her unit. We are very fortunate to have someone who strives to improve our unit and hospital, making it a better place to work.

I was admitted to the floor on Friday night and had a bad experience with being on BiPAP. Roxi came in on Saturday night and was calming and reassuring. She listened to my concerns about being on the BiPAP, and she came up with a plan to set a timer for 4 hours so I would know when I could take it off safely. She came back exactly 4 hours later, and I was feeling so much better. I was able to rest that night because Roxi was caring. My wife was also able to rest because we both knew I was in good hands that night.

She was absolutely wonderful! Took great care of my husband. Always friendly, joking, and caring! Thank you so much! We appreciate you!

Thanks for taking such great care of me! And being a wonderful nurse!
