If anyone is a real-life superhero, it’s Roshna because she is the hardest worker who always goes above and beyond for everyone and does it with the most contagious smile on her face!
As a young person in a hospital for the first time (and on an adult ward), I found it very daunting. However, one person in particular made me feel as though I was always safe and welcomed, and that was Roshna. Roshna always seemed to know throughout the three weeks I was on Penn Ward when I was upset or feeling low, when I might be feeling particularly poorly and in need of medication, and was always there. I felt so safe in her care. Above this, she was always a smiley, caring face who would come on to check on me throughout the day and chat to me to cheer me up.

Roshna would come and say goodbye to me before the end of her shift, and she made me feel truly cared for, and like I could always depend on her- it’s the little things that count. One night in particular, the ward was rather noisy and I was feeling very anxious, but Roshna quickly reassured me, calming my nerves by waiting until I settled by my bed, making me feel safe and comforted. If anyone is a real-life superhero, it’s Roshna because she is the hardest worker who always goes above and beyond for everyone and does it with the most contagious smile on her face!
