The first day felt like walking in darkness, lost in fear and uncertainty. But with the arrival of Nurse Alice the next day, everything became clearer and easier, bringing relief not only to my wife but also to me and our family.
The Nurse: A Second Mother in Times of Hardship. This nurse was not just a caregiver; she was like a mother, attentively and devotedly looking after her children. Let me explain how she embodied this extraordinary role. Her monitoring of the patient was incredibly precise, requiring immense physical effort to care for her—turning her in bed, ensuring her comfort, and constantly checking on her condition. Despite handling everything on her own, she carried out this demanding work with dedication and unwavering commitment. Her care was not limited to physical well-being; she also provided invaluable knowledge and guidance. She explained, in meticulous detail, the numbers and data displayed on the medical monitors, helping me better understand my wife's condition. The first day felt like walking in darkness, lost in fear and uncertainty. But with the arrival of Nurse Alice the next day, everything became clearer and easier, bringing relief not only to my wife but also to me and our family. She asked me to stay with my wife from early morning until after midnight. Although the delivery room had limited space, she thoughtfully arranged for a chair where I could rest for a few hours. Noticing that the room was cold, she even provided me with something to keep warm. It was as if she wasn’t just caring for the patient but for those around her as well. Despite the difficulty of the experience we went through, Nurse Alice was the primary reason the burden felt lighter. What I have shared here barely captures the immense role she played, but she will always remain in our memories as a symbol of compassion and humanity.
