During National Nurses Week, Amariah Wetzel was recently honored with the DAISY Award at Wayne HealthCare. Nominated by a patient, Amariah was recognized for the compassion, professionalism, and joy she brings to every interaction.

In the patient’s nomination, they described Amariah as their “favorite nurse from day one,” noting her ability to create a sense of peace during a stressful time. “She walked into the room every time with a smile. She addressed every concern, no matter how trivial, and was present. If she could have worked 24/7, we would’ve been overjoyed to have her every moment,” the patient wrote.

A nurse since 2019, Amariah began her career at Wayne HealthCare through the nurse residency program and found her calling in obstetrics. Though briefly stepping away, she returned in October 2023, reaffirming her passion for caring for growing families.

A native of Darke County and a Franklin Monroe graduate, Amariah has always dreamed of being a nurse. She brings trust, kindness, and positivity to every shift and loves the joy and new beginnings that OB nursing brings. Her patients and colleagues alike are grateful for her presence and heart.
