She felt safe, comfortable and less alone, which was lovely because she was in low spirits before. She felt like a burden before, but Victor took that feeling away, so we are really thankful to him.
Okay, honestly, I don’t know where to begin. I’m not great at using words to describe my gratitude. So, I’m just going to wing it the best I can. My mom was transferred from the ICU, and Victor was her night nurse for four nights, which was awesome because I’ve never seen my mom so taken by someone as immediately as she was with Victor. She said he was “amable & respetuoso”. She felt safe, comfortable, and less alone, which was lovely because she was in low spirits before. She felt like a burden before, but Victor took that feeling away, so we are really thankful to him.
When Victor shared about his journey from Peru to California, my mom loved it. It reminds her of her son, who came to the United States at the age of 10. She also loved Victor’s anecdote about “torta and chavo del ocho”. It was very funny. We haven’t smiled or laughed like that in a while, so we thank him.
I loved how patient Victor was with my mom and how he would explain things like her medication and vitals, etc. Also, I was grateful when he showed me how to pull out the sofa so I could be comfy when I stayed the night to look after my mom. Victor was a great support to us, even for that short amount of time. Sadly, we could not say goodbye to Victor and thank him in person once again. I hope the absolute best for Victor, many blessings in his life for the kindness he showed us. We hope his studies go well. We know he will be the best at whatever they are. So, I hope this captures how awesome we think he is.
