I am more than happy to nominate Ashley for this award, as I feel that she is so deserving of it. Ashley took care of a specific patient for two days in a row. She fought for excellent care to be done with this patient. She fought for two days for this patient, never giving up when she clearly was not being heard. Her only concern was her patient, as she could see the decline in her status throughout her shifts. She made this patient a priority in her busy list and kept giving her concerns both days, and did not stop when the patient's team felt the patient was stable. Ashley knew that the patient was not stable and knew this patient needed more attention than she was receiving. Because of Ashley's constant raised concerns, another medical team came on board to co-manage and assist in the care of her patient. Ashley was never happy with good enough, and because of that, this patient received the excellent care that Ashley fought so hard for. 

Ashley never sat back with the attitude that she tried her best and that's all that can be done. Instead, she continued to make sure that this patient received the best care and saw it all the way through. This is not the only time she has done this. This is her care every time, with every patient she cares for. She is the nurse I enjoy working alongside, the nurse I aspire to be, and the nurse I want to care for my children should they ever be hospitalized.
