I’m so excited to nominate Hannah Jackson for the DAISY Award. Over the past two quarters of clinicals together, I’ve seen firsthand just how incredible she is. Hannah is someone who brings light into every room she enters. She has a natural way of making patients, their families, and even all of us feel comfortable and cared for. With six years of experience as a CNA in memory care, she’s learned how to truly connect with people, especially those who need it most. She listens, she cares, and she always takes the time to make sure everyone feels heard and valued. Hannah’s dream is to become a pediatric oncology nurse, and it’s obvious that nursing is what she was meant to do. She has a special way of lifting people up, whether it’s calming a nervous patient or encouraging her classmates on a tough day. Her compassion and dedication shine through in everything she does. What really stands out to me is how much she genuinely cares. She doesn’t just go through the motions, she’s fully present with her patients and classmates, always going the extra mile because she genuinely wants the best for everyone. Hannah has this amazing way of making everyone feel welcome and valued. She approaches every patient, family member, and classmate with an open heart and mind, never judging or criticizing. Her positive energy is contagious, and she always goes out of her way to ensure that everyone feels included. Whether she’s working with a patient from a different background or just being there for a classmate, Hannah makes sure no one is left out or overlooked. Hannah always shows respect for her patients, their families, and her peers. She takes the time to listen, to understand, and to provide care that is thoughtful and respectful. With the patient who couldn’t feed herself, she saw a person who needed care, and she treated her with the respect and dignity she deserved. This respect is something Hannah brings to every interaction, making sure everyone she cares for feels valued and important. I hope that this nomination reflects how special Hannah truly is. She deserves this award more than anyone I have ever met, and I am so lucky to know her and learn from her.
